AIIMS Bathinda Commences Dedicated Patient Kitchen Services Enhancing Quality Nutrition and Patient-Centric Care

Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Gupta, Executive Director, AIIMS Bathinda, the Patient Kitchen Services have been successfully commenced at the Institute. This important initiative aims to further strengthen patient care by ensuring timely delivery of normal and therapeutic diets, which play a crucial role in faster recovery, disease management, and improved clinical outcomes while maintaining fresh, hygienic, and nutritionally balanced food services for admitted patients.

This milestone has been made possible with the major support and leadership of Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Medical Superintendent, Col. Rajiv Sen Roy, Deputy Director, Dr. Moonis Mirza, Head, Department of Hospital Administration, and Er. Abhinav Kumar, Executive Engineer, along with the dedicated efforts of the Department of Dietetics team led by Dr. Kamna Bhati (Dietician), Ankita (Assistant Dietician), and Puja Kumari (Assistant Dietician).

On this occasion, Dr. Kamna Bhati shared that the newly operational kitchen will deliver five meal services daily to admitted patients, including three major meals and two tea services. Patients will receive diets as per their specific medical conditions — such as normal diets and a range of therapeutic diets based on clinical requirements.

 

AIIMS Bathinda Commences Dedicated Patient Kitchen Services Enhancing Quality Nutrition and Patient-Centric CareFor patients unable to take food orally, specialized tube-feeding diets will also be prepared and administered. All food preparation and meal services will be carried out under the strict supervision of the Department of Dietetics, ensuring high standards of hygiene, food safety, and nutritional adequacy.

The commencement of the patient kitchen marks a significant step toward enhancing patient experience and supporting improved health outcomes through nutrition-based care at AIIMS Bathinda.
