Aiming to start heart and lung transplants, Dr. HS Bedi joins Park super specialty hospital as Director Cardiovascular

Dr. Harinder Singh Bedi has joined Park Hospital, Mohali as director of cardiovascular endovascular & thoracic sciences.
Dr Bedi said that it was his aim to start heart and lung transplants so that patients from this area need not go to Delhi or Chennai for the transplants. The aim is also to give international level care with skill and compassion, he maintained.
Dr Bedi is credited with 3 world first surgeries documented in the Limca Book of World Records. He was the first to document the first series of 100 patients of multi-vessel beating heart surgery with angiographic follow up.
This was published in the most prestigious cardiac surgery journal the Annals of Thoracic Surgery and also in the Limca Book of World Records .
He has earlier worked at the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Australia where he had extensive training in heart and lung transplant .
Aiming to start heart and lung transplants, Dr. HS Bedi joins Park super specialty hospital as Director Cardiovascular. He has also recently used 3D printing technology for treating a large lung malformation . This was the first time in the word that this was ever done . He also has an innovative procedure which is named after him as Bedi-LIMA buttress technique .
Meanwhile Park group is a large chain of super specialty hospitals. The 450 bedded Mohali hospital is the cardiac flagship hospital located in Sector 69, Mohali and is dedicated to excellence in medical care .
