AIPEF Federal Council meeting at Lucknow to discuss the privatisation policy of central and state government

The Federal Council meeting of All India power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) will be held at Lucknow on July 20 to discuss the privatisation policy of central and state government in respect of the power sector, said Rathnakar Rao, General Secretary.
The meeting shall be discussing the ongoing process of privatisation of two UP distribution companies by state government, privatisation of power distribution through parallel distribution licence in Maharashtra, and privatisation of transmission system through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) , monetization of transmission assets, and formation of joint venture involving a state-owned electricity generation company (GENCO).

All the state constituents shall be participating in day long deliberations to take stock of the present situation and propose suitable action programmes. There is a need to fight jointly against privatisation of the power sector with the help of consumers ,farmers and other stakeholders , said V K Gupta media advisor AIPEF.
