Air Force Day-Cycle expedition to Hussainiwala Border

As part of Air Force Day commemorative event, Air Force Station Bhisiana organized a cycle expedition to Hussainiwala Border on to enhance awareness on ‘Swachh Bharat’ initiative of Government of India with an objective to motivate youth to keep their surroundings clean.

The expedition team headed by Wg Cdr SK Behera and comprising of nine air warriors was flagged off by Air Commodore Rajiva Ranjan Vayu Sena Medal, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Bhisiana at 0600hrs on 02 Oct 18.

The team after covering distance of 104 Kms reached Hussainiwala at 1630hrs after continuous cycling for 10 hrs. Team publicized the importance of keeping our environment clean and green, to the people. In this process, they distributed literature educating the masses about the significance of keeping our natural habitat safe for the future generations. The masses reciprocated by waving their hands to the cycle expedition team and cheered them with slogan of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

Local ICICI bank branches at Bhatinda and Sri Muktsar Sahib also joined hands with IAF in spreading the patriotic fervor and ‘Swachh Bharat’ drive amongst the local population. After covering the distance of 208 Kms (both ways), the expedition concluded.
