Ajayvir Singh Lalpura, District President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rupnagar, met Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, L. Murugan, to discuss two major demands related to the Punjabi film industry. The meeting was held in a cordial and positive atmosphere, focusing on current issues faced by the industry.

During the meeting, Ajayvir Singh Lalpura drew the Union Minister’s attention to two specific issues. The first concerned the granting of censorship certification (Censor Certificates) to certain Punjabi films so that they may be released on time. He stated that delays in certification cause financial and professional difficulties for producers, artists, and technical staff associated with the films.

The second key issue raised was the formal inauguration and full functioning of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) office in Chandigarh. Lalpura explained that the establishment of a fully operational CBFC office in Chandigarh would greatly benefit filmmakers from Punjab and neighboring states, as it would eliminate the need to travel to distant cities for certification. This would save both time and resources and simplify the overall process.

Union Minister L. Murugan listened to both matters with seriousness and sensitivity. He adopted a positive approach and assured that the issues would be examined at the appropriate level in coordination with the concerned departments. The Minister stated that the government places importance on the growth of creative industries and understands the significant role played by the film sector.

Speaking after the meeting, Ajayvir Singh Lalpura said, “I sincerely thank  Union Minister L. Murugan. During today’s meeting, we had detailed discussions on two important issues related to the Punjabi film industry. The Minister listened attentively and with sensitivity and assured early resolution. I assure that I will always stand firmly for the interests of Punjabi artists, the film industry, and my people,” Lalpura said.
