Shiromani akali dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal has announced that one of party’s strongest candidate Bikram Singh Majithia to contest from Amritsar East, from where congress has given ticket to Pradesh congress committee president Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Earlier, a day after getting an interim anticipatory bail in a drug smuggling case, former minister and senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia said he was open to contesting the Assembly election against PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu or any Congress leader if the people of Punjab and his party leadership asked him to.
