As many as 300 people were screened in a free ‘Cardiac & Ortho Camp’ at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan , Sector 9, Panchkula.
The camp was organized by Alchemist Hospital, Panchkula in association with Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation.
During camp free consultations were provided by Dr Dalvir Chauhan, senior consultant, orthopedic and Dr Rohit Parti , senior consultant , interventional cardiology.
The patients benefited with free investigations like ECG, blood sugar, blood pressure monitoring in the camp.
Dr Dalvir said that bones are strong in young age but after the age of thirty you start losing bone density. This happens to everyone, but some people develop osteoporosis and lose bone density much faster than normal. This means they’re at greater risk of a fracture.
Knee joints problems are higher in women as compared to men because the hormone changes that occur in the menopause directly affect bone density, he asserted.
Dr Rohit Parti advised balanced diet, regular exercise, and mental relaxation for healthy heart.
Those who were found having high blood pressure and some other symptoms of heart disease were prescribed medicines.
