“Due to the alertness and timely action of the Punjab Police, the conspiracy to hurt Shiromani Akali Dal leader and the former Deputy Chief Minister of the state Sukhbir Singh Badal has been foiled” said CP , Amritsar, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS.
As per the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, “the Punjab police has made elaborate security arrangements for Sukhbir Singh Badal, who was performing the duty of ‘sevadar’ on Wednesday. Sukhbir Badal, who was sitting in a wheelchair when the attack happened, escaped unhurt due to the timely action by Punjab police and as the bullet hit a wall. Punjab police has deputed 175 personals, with one SSP ranked and two SP, DSP ranked officer in his security. The tight security helped Punjab police in foiling an attempt to hurt Sukhbir Singh Badal.”

Bhullar added that ” i had informed the bravery of three Punjab police personnels and recommended for an award.”
The Punjab Police has immediately arrested the person who had fired at Sukhbir Singh Badal and recovered 9mm pistol from him.
Alert Punjab Police saved Sukhbir Singh Badal from murderous attack. Even the Chief Minister of Punjab Bahgwant Singh Mann along with leaders from opposition parties has lauded the Punjab police for foiling the murderous attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal.
