All set for Mock Drill, Black Out exercise in Patiala on Saturday; Civil Defence to lead the exercise under Operation Shield

As per ministry of home affairs (MHA) orders, district administration Patiala is going to hold a mock drill under ‘Operation Shield’ in Patiala on May 31,2025.
The exercise will be supervised, coordinated by Civil Defence, Patiala under the command of KS Sekhon.
Sekhon said “as per plan, Civil Defence, Patiala is going to organize a Mock Drill on May 31,2025 at Polo Ground, Patiala at 6:00 pm onwards. In this around 2 hour exercise where various departments including Army, health, powercom, fire brigade, police etc will be participating in the drill. After that, a black out exercise will be done at New Lal Bagh colony opposite Polo Ground from 8:00 pm to 8:10 PM. “
He further added that civil defence vounteers, NCC cadets, NSS, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Scouts and Guides, Youth Welfare department’s volunteers amongst others will participate in the exercise. The drills will also involve the deployment of medical teams, transportation of blood units, and other emergency response measures.
Additional deputy commissioner (G) Patiala Isha Singal, PCS appealed to the residents of New Lal Bagh colony to not to get panicked due to this mock drill or black out exercise.
All set for Mock Drill, Black Out exercise in Patiala on Saturday; Civil Defence to lead the exercise under Operation Shield. Operation Shield drills will involve air raid sirens, blackouts in civilian areas, and mock evacuation of military families during simulated drone attacks.
A civil defence mock drill under ‘Operation Shield’, which was originally scheduled for Thursday, across multiple border states and Union Territories, has been postponed due to administrative reasons. Now, the same will be done on May 31,2025 across states and Union Territories where it was planned.
