Allegations leveled by Pritpal Singh Batra against inspector Swaran Gandhi found to be false-SP

Today Harmeet Singh Hundal, PPS SP Investigation Patiala, gave an official version on the allegation leveled by Pritpal Singh Batra, a resident of Pandusar mohalla, Nabha, on Patiala police, for torturing him and implicating in a false case registered “vide FIR No.62 dated 08.07.2019 u/s 22/29/61 NDPS Act P.S. Kotwali Nabha regarding nomination of Pritpal Singh Batra son of Partap Singh r/o H.No. 267, Mohalla Pandusar Nabha, District Patiala.”
Harmeet Singh Hundal, PPS SP Investigation Patiala, notified that an FIR No.62 dated 08.07.2019 u/s 22/29/61 NDPS Act P.S. Kotwali Nabha was registered against Yograj Sharma son of Raunki Ram r/o 353, near Shankarpuri, Shiv Mandir Alhoran Gate Nabha. On interrogation of accused Yograj Sharma son of Raunki Ram, Pritpal Singh Batra son of Partap Singh was nominated by SI Gurmeet Singh then incharge CIA Nabha on 09.07.2019. The FIR was registered by ASI Chamkaur Singh.
Pritpal Singh Batra son of Partap Singh was arrested on 23.07.2019 in Case FIR No.62 dated 08.07.2019 u/s 22/29/61 NDPS Act P.S. Kotwali Nabha and during police remand, upon his interrogation a total of 1101 intoxicant tablets of Actodol-SR-100 and 170 intoxicant tablets of Letenz MD-0.5, (total 1271 intoxicant tablets) were recovered.
He also disclosed during police remand that his brother Manpreet Singh and their servant Manvavjit Singh @ Mannu son of Surjit Singh r/o Galwatti, Ankit Chhatwal son of Ravinder Chhatwal r/o Chhatwal Medical Store, Nabha are also involved in drug trade who were also nominated in this FIR.
Nardeep Kaur wife Partap Singh r/o H.No.267, Mohalla Pandusar Nabha, District Patiala (mother of Pritpal Singh Batra) filed a CRM-M- 39562 of 2019 in the Punjab and Haryana High Court Chandigarh, which was dismissed as withdrawn on 06.02.2020 and the investigation of above case was transferred to CIA Patiala.
It is also to be noted that earlier also an FIR No.132 dated 16.08.2014 u/s 22/61/85 NDPS Act P.S.Kotwali Nabha was registered against him and he was convicted vide judgment dated 10.09.2018 to undergo six months Rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.2000/- by the Ld. Court of Judge Special Court Patiala.
An FIR No.79 dated 08.09.2017 u/s 458,427,323,148,149 IPC P.S.Kotwali Nabha was registered against Pritpal Singh Batra son of Partap Singh and others was registered and on the basis of compromise untraced report was filed on 23.10.2017 and the was accepted by the Illaqa Magistrate on 22.04.2018.
Pritpal Singh Batra son of Partap Singh was released on bail on 19-06-2020 and an FIR No.110 dated 27.06.2020 u/s 323/324/341/34 IPC Act P.S. Kotwali Nabha has been registered against accused Pritpal Singh Batra son of Partap Singh and others which is under investigation. The complainant of this FIR has alleged that he was mercilessly beaten by Pritpal Singh Batra son of Partap Singh and his companions as he was having previous grudge against him.
Many complaints were given to senior officers by Pritpal Singh Batra son of Partap Singh regarding his allegations against Inspector Swaran Gandhi, these complaints were inquired by DSP Nabha and during inquiry all the allegations were found to be false.
The Punjab Government has taken a very serious view against drug smugglers. Strict action would be taken against any persons indulging in drug trafficking and trade by Patiala Police.
