Alumni Association Meet held at Govt. College of Education, Sec 20 Chandigarh

The General body meeting of Alumni Association of Govt. College of Education was held today. Around 135 Alumnus of different sessions of M.Ed., B.Ed., and PGDG&C attended the meeting. The Programme started with singing of College anthem, Lighting the lamp and Saraswati vandana. Thereafter, Principal Dr. Sapna Nanda formally welcomed the guests and presented the achievements of the college over the last five years. The convenor of the Alumni meet Dr. Sanjeev Jindal introduced the objective of the event to facilitate an enriching and interactive platform for esteemed alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and inspire the current generation of students. The Programme proceeded with various cultural items and sharing of enriched experiences by the Alumnus. A special segment of the event was dedicated to facilitating a meaningful interaction between the alumni and current students.
Eminent alumnus Brahmjeet Kalia & Surrender Duggal (oldest present alumni) with Budh Ram, Prof. Madhu Chitkara, Prof. Taruna Dhall, Prof. Nandita, Prof. Sunil Dutt and Dr. Jasvir Kaur Chahal was honoured by Principal, Dean of the college, present Vice-President and General Secretary of AAGCE. They shared their enriched experiences, reconnected with their alma mater, and inspired the current generation of students. The Alumni Meet witnessed the congregation of eminent alumni from diverse fields, including business, government, academia, and the arts. These accomplished individuals have carved a niche for themselves in their respective industries, making an indelible impact on society.
Elections for the Executive body were also held. Following members were elected to the posts of President (Ex-Officio)-Dr. Sapna Nanda, Vice President- Raghubir Shastri, Secretary- Sanjay Sharma, Joint Secretary- Gurpreet, Treasurer- Dr. Rajni Thakur, Executive members- Harjeet Kamal Singh, Manisha Sahni, Meenakshi Soni Verma, Khushal Sapra and Avdesh Nirajan. New executive was presented with the registration Certificate and Memorandum of Association by the outgoing executive body of the association. Dr. Mukhtiar Singh, Dr. Anurag Sankhian, Dr. Neelam Paul, Dr. Vijay Phogat, Dr. Upasna Thappiyal conducted the elections.
Alumni Association Meet held at Govt. College of Education, Sec 20 Chandigarh. The Placement Cell Dr convenor, Dr. Ravneet Chawla made a database drive about the former students visiting the college and registered their feedback to be shared with the current students. Dr Upasana Thapliyal, member placement cell and Dr Ravinder Kumar supported the drive with member students of the placement cell. The programme ended with the National anthem.
