The Department of Sociology at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, organized a warm and memorable Alumni Meet that brought together former students from various batches to reconnect with their alma mater, share their professional journeys, and celebrate the spirit of togetherness and growth.
The occasion served as a vibrant platform to strengthen alumni bonds and foster meaningful academic and professional engagement. Alumni were welcomed with great enthusiasm and participated actively in interactive sessions, where they shared experiences, insights, and words of encouragement with current students and faculty members.
As a special highlight of the day, the department also organized a Salad Making Competition to mark the importance of health . This health-focused event aimed to promote nutritional awareness and healthy lifestyle choices among students. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students, who creatively prepared a variety of nutritious salads. It added a refreshing and engaging dimension to the alumni celebrations.
Dr. Harneet Billing, Head, Department of Education, and Narinder Kaur, Incharge, Department of Social Science, served as the esteemed guests and judges for the Salad Making Competition. They appreciated the initiative and stressed the importance of such activities in fostering health consciousness among youth and alumni alike.
The entire event was smoothly coordinated by Ekroop Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, under the valuable guidance of Dr. Nav Shagan Deep Kaur, Head of the Department. Faculty members including Paramdeep Singh, Dr. Harmanpreet Kaur, and Yashna Syal played key roles in organizing and managing the day’s events.
