The historic town of Anandpur Sahib is gearing up to host the grand celebration of Hola Mohalla, the annual Sikh festival that attracts thousands of devotees and visitors from across the globe. This year, the district administration with support of several organisations has taken steps to ensure a safe, eco-friendly, and inclusive experience for all attendees.
According to Rupnagar deputy commissioner Himanshu Jain the preparations for Hola Mohalla 2025 are focused on three key initiatives:
- Zero Dark Corners Initiative:
To ensure the safety and security of all visitors, the entire festival area will be illuminated with bright LED lighting, eliminating any dark corners. Surveillance cameras and dedicated security personnel will be deployed across the venue to provide round-the-clock vigilance and assistance.
- Anti-Begging Force:
A special task force has been established to curb begging and ensure the dignity of all attendees. This initiative aims to provide support and rehabilitation to those in need while maintaining the sanctity of the festival.
- 100% Plastic Waste Recovery:
We have committed to achieving 100% plastic waste recovery during the festival. Eco-friendly alternatives will be promoted, and dedicated waste management teams will ensure proper segregation, recycling, and disposal of all plastic waste.

In addition to these initiatives, we are also planning a special Accidental Insurance Cover for all devotees attending the festival. This insurance will provide financial protection in the event of any unforeseen accidents during the festivities.
Anandpur Sahib gears up to host Hola Mohalla. “We are committed to making Hola Mohalla 2025 a model festival that prioritizes safety, sustainability, and spiritual enrichment”,deputy commissioner said.
He said that preparations are being carried out in close collaboration with Tourism dept, local authorities, environmental organizations, and community leaders. A series of awareness campaigns will also be launched to encourage attendees to participate in these initiatives and contribute to the success of the festival.
