Annual conference of Punjab Academy of Forensic Medicine &Toxicology

Sixteenth annual conference of Punjab Academy of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (PAFMAT – a state body of forensic medicine and medico legal experts) is being organized on 17th of this month by Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology in Government Medical College Patiala on the theme “Advancing Forensic Medicine & Medico Legal Services” with participation of experts from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh who will deliberate on upliftment of medico legal services in the region along with scientific sessions.
According to Dr DS Bhullar President of PAFMAT and Dr KK Aggarwal Chairman Organizing Committee and Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine, important topics for discussion during the day long deliberations include medicolegal aspects of drug abuse and in-vitro fertilization, unnecessary referral of dead bodies, medico legal coordination in crime detection, social and legal issues confronting medical profession, common errors in medico legal practice, sexual harassment at workplace and emergency approach in dealing with poisoning cases.
The conference will be inaugurated by Director Research & Medical Education Punjab and OSD to Chief Minister Punjab Dr Garish Sahni will be the Guest of Honour.
