India’s Golden Boy- Neeraj Chopra won Gold medal at Budapest in World Athletics Championship in Javelin final with 88.17 Mtr Throw.
Chopra is India’s first athlete who won Gold medal in history of World Athletics Championship.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has congratulated Neeraj Chopra for winning the Gold at the World Athletics Championships. The Prime Minister said in a X (earlier Twitter) post;
“The talented @Neeraj_chopra1 exemplifies excellence. His dedication, precision and passion make him not just a champion in athletics but a symbol of unparalleled excellence in the entire sports world. Congrats to him for winning the Gold at the World Athletics Championships.”
Chopra, 24, added the coveted medal missing from his collection – the World Championship gold. Neeraj’s achievement marked a significant improvement from the 2022 edition of the Worlds, where he secured a silver medal.
Another First: India’s ‘Golden Boy’ is now World Champion. Chopra’s compatriot from Pakistan, Arshad Nadeem finished second as he finished marginally behind the Indian gold medallist at 87.82m. The Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch took the bronze in 86.67m.
