Another Medical College in Punjab !! today, CM to lay its foundation stone

Today, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann is going to lay a foundation stone of a Medical College, to come up at Mastuana sahib in Sangrur. Mastuana Sahib is situated on Chandigarh-Bathinda national highway.

Punjab finance minister Harpal Cheema had already announced to establish establishment of Medical College- Sant Baba Attar Singh State Institute of Medical sciences in district Sangrur, in its budget speech.

The state government has also announced the setting up of Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences at Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar (Mohali) in the FY 2022-23

Bhagwant Mann led aam admi party has already announced to set up 16 new Medical colleges over a period of next five years taking to 25 colleges in the State.

At present Punjab has Govt Medical College at Patiala, Amritsar, Faridkot, Adesh Medical University at Bathinda, All India Institute of Medical sciences (AIIMS) at Bathinda, Christian Medical College (CMC) and Dayanand Medical College at Ludhiana, Sri Guru Ramdass University of Health Sciences at Amritsar, Gian Sagar Medical College at Banur, Patiala district, Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) at Jalandhar ,Dr BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences at Mohali, Chintpurni Medical College at Pathankot. A medical college is also coming up at Hoshiarpur .

Former chief minister of Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh had already announced last year to set up a medical college at Gurdaspur and at Malerkotla, during his term.

Today, Punjab chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will also inaugurate 72nd Van Mahautsav at Government School, Benra, Dhuri, in Sangrur district and later to take part in a State level function at Dhuri regarding the prevention of Single use plastic. Punjab Pollution Control Board is organising this event on prevention of Single use plastic.
