Another Prof of Computer Science department joins Controller of Examination, Punjabi University

Lots of pending work, results greets Dr. Neeraj Sharma , Professor in the Department of Computer Science and presently Dean of Faculty of Computing Sciences in Punjabi University on his joining as the Controller of Examination.
He replaces Dr. Vishal Goyal of Computer Science department of the university. Dr Goyal had resigned from the post on July 5,2024 and since then the post of CoE remained without regular head. University authorities had appointed Dr Manjit Singh as CoE after Vishal Goyal’s resignation. But he refused to join the post. After Dr Manjit’s denial the additional charge of CoE was given to Prof Tiwari, dean academic affairs .
Earlier Examination Branch had Prof. Vishal Goyal as CoE from Computer Science Department which had brought drastic reforms in examination branch. Through his domain knowledge expertise, he had improved the Re-evaluation process, conduct of examinations, online absentee during examinations, filling of external marks by the evaluators online with ease, computerization of registration branch, monitoring of movement of answersheet bundles through online mode, computerization of secrecy sets, online paper setting and lot more to mention.
Now after Dr Goyal’s own willingly resignation from CoE again Examination Branch gets CoE from same department. Now, all eyes are on Dr Neeraj Sharma to take forward the left out Dr Vishal Goyal’s upgradation work to new heights. It is hoping that in similar way, the examination branch will be further computerized and improved students-university relations.
Dr. Neeraj Sharma also has a vast experience of around three decades. He is working as Professor in the Department of Computer Science and presently Dean of Faculty of Computing Sciences in Punjabi University Patiala. He has teaching and research experience of more than 29 years in the university. He has published many research papers in the national and international journals of repute. He has produced ten PhD scholars in the field of AI and Machine Learning. He is also on the board of many national and international forums and editorials.
