Anti Begging Awareness Campaign Reaches Modi College

An anti-begging awareness campaign under the banner of ‘Har Haath Kalam’ about menace of child begging reached at premises of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala. This campaign is focused at creating awareness among public against problem of child begging. The volunteers told that they are covering the whole city under their theme “200 km in 7 days” to spread the message.

Students of NSS: Active Citizens and NCC Wing are also actively participating in this campaign. Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the volunteers and students in the college and appreciated their unique effort. He said that college is always ready to support such socially relevant campaigns these children should be in schools instead of begging at roads of the city. Till date, the organization ‘Har Haath Kalam’, has adopted 80 children under this campaign.

Lalita, Dushyant, Aman, Karan, Ishpinder, Rahul Singla, Gurfateh Singh and Sagar Khanna are among the students from Thapar College and Modi College who are leading the campaign. College NCC Officer Captain Ved Parkash Sharma congratulated the students for the initiative. NSS Officers Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Prof. (Mrs.) Jagdeep Kaur, Prof. Harmohan Sharma, Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Dr. Sumeet Kumar, Dr. Varun Jain,Ajay Gupta and a large number of students participated in this event.
