Arms seizure case- NIA conducts searches in Punjab

As per available information, India’s premier agency, National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday conducted searches at various locations in Punjab in connection with a case of arms recovery in Haryana.
The case relates to the seizure of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and arms and ammunition from Batrara toll plaza in Haryana’s Karnal.

Four terror suspects were arrested by Haryana Police near Bastara toll plaza at 4 am on May 5. The suspects were identified as Gurpreet, Amandeep Parminder and Bhupinder and were apprehended from a white Innova car. Three IEDs, one country-made pistol, 31 live cartridges, 1.31 lakh cash and six mobile phones were recovered from them.
The operation to nab them was carried out jointly by Telangana, Punjab and Haryana Police.
As per a news agency, PTI, during investigation, it was revealed that Pakistan-based operative of the BKI (Babar Khalsa International) Harvinder Singh coordinated the delivery of explosives, arms and ammunition at the behest of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI for carrying out terrorist attacks in different parts of India, in connivance with the arrested accused, the NIA said.
Arms seizure case- NIA conducts searches in Punjab . During the searches at Ludhiana, Ferozpur and Gurdaspur, digital devices, details of financial transactions and property and other incriminating material was seized, it said, adding further investigation in the case continues.
