Arrested by Vigilance Bureau is not an Architect – Ar. Sandhu

Ar. Rajinder Singh Sandhu, Chairman, The Indian Institute of Architects, Patiala Centre has refuted the claims made by the law enforcement agency that Anish Khanna, is an Architect from Patiala who was arrested along with ATP , Patiala Municipal Corporation for taking a bribe of Rs. 50,000.
“There is NEWS being circulated on certain media portals that an architect is arrested by vigilance bureau for taking a bribe along with a MC official of Patiala Municipal corporation.I want to clarify here that an architect is a person who is registered with the Council of Architecture (CoA).This is well explained in the Architects Act 1972.No other person can be called an architect. CoA registers the person having the valid qualifications only. So the accused person is not a qualified architect” said Ar. Rajinder Singh Sandhu.
Arrested by Vigilance Bureau is not an Architect – Ar. Sandhu further added that “I as Chairman of The Indian Institute of Architects, Patiala centre, request all media houses not to mention the accused person as an architect as this gives bad name to the noble profession of Architecture.”
As per reports, the accused Anish Khanna is not a qualified Architect but a draftsman and is pretending as architect
