Delhi’s Chief Minister and AAP’s National Convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, spearheaded a vibrant roadshow on Sunday in support of INDIA Alliance and AAP candidates, Somnath Bharti and Mahabal Mishra. Delhites turned out in droves, reaffirming their commitment to ousting the BJP on May 25. The AAP Supremo, buoyed by the overwhelming support, expressed gratitude for the public’s trust, citing his administration’s accomplishments in education, healthcare, and utilities. Warning against potential consequences if BJP regains power, he urged voters to support the ‘jhadu’ (broom) symbol to safeguard the progress made. During this Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, both the INDIA bloc and AAP candidates, and senior AAP leaders lent their presence.
Canvassing for INDIA alliance candidate for New Delhi Lok Sabha Constituency in a road show in Moti Nagar, Arvind Kejriwal said it feels great to be amongst you today. I know many of you prayed for me and blessed me a lot. Your prayers were reaching me, and I missed you a lot in jail. I missed my people of Delhi a lot and I know that you guys were also missing me a little. So, see, God listened. There was a little pain in my heart, a little pain in your hearts as well. So, to bring us together, God got me bail.
He said these people (BJP) are telling me that I have to go back to jail after 20 days. “If you people press the button enough on the broom (AAP election symbol), then I will not need to go to jail. There is power in your hands,” he said.
Answering the slogans from the crowd assembled at the roadshow, ‘BJP will go on May 25’, Arvind Kejriwal said I was wondering why they sent me to jail, what is my fault; my fault is that I built schools. “When your children did not get good education, I arranged a good school for your children, it is my fault. Whenever someone in your house fell ill, you used to spend thousands, lakhs of rupees in private hospitals, I made arrangements for your treatment, this is my biggest mistake,” he said.
The Delhi Chief Minister said that he arranged for free medicines for the people of Delhi but when he went to Tihar, they did not give him sugar medicines for 15 days. He said I have diabetes; I take 52 units of insulin daily. They did not give me insulin for 15 days inside Tihar.
He said my fault is that I arranged 24 hours electricity for you people, my fault is that I arranged free electricity for you people, I worked for you people, so these people sent me to jail because they (BJP) don’t want the work of Delhiites to be done.
Arvind Kejriwal said now if I go to jail again, these BJP people want to stop all your work, they want to stop free electricity, they want to spoil your schools, they want to close your locality clinics, hospitals. This is wrong politics; this is dirty politics.
If someone is doing good work, let him work. I built 500 schools; you are the Prime Minister of the country, you build 5000 schools, then you are great. I am building 500 schools, they put me in jail and ruin 500 schools. This is wrong politics, this is dictatorship. “All of you have to fight against this dictatorship and what BJP people are saying is to give them 400 seats. Asked them why 400 seats are needed, they are not telling. They are saying that they will do great things. When we asked the BJP people what great work will they do, they said that we will end the reservation in the country,” he said.
Cautioning the people about the BJP’s gameplan, the Delhi Chief Minister said, “Then, as Putin did in Russia, he changed the Constitution and now elections are not held there. Now Putin remains there sometimes as President and sometimes as Prime Minister. They will also change the Constitution and stop elections within the country. Do you want democracy to end from the country, do you want democracy to end, reservation should end. If not, then everyone should go to cast their vote and press the broom button. You people have given me so much love and Somnath ji is our candidate. The button is on number three.”
He asked the people if they knew about the Member of Parliament who represented them. “Who was the MP here before this? No one would even know the name. Meenakshi Lekhi. Did anyone see her face, did she ever come to meet you. When you called here, did she pick up the phone, when you went to meet her, did she meet you. Somnath Bharti will be available. Ask the people of Malviya Nagar area, he picks up everyone’s phone at 2:00 in the night. If any need arises at night, he will answer the phone, will come to meet you, will get your work done, will always be there for you. Everyone should vote for him and make him win with a record margin, with an overwhelming majority,” said Arvind Kejriwal.
While in another roadshow in Uttam Nagar, Arvind Kejriwal said that I have been in jail for about 50 days. I missed all of you a lot. My wife used to come to meet me, she used to tell me that crores of people blessed me, sent prayers. My mothers and sisters prayed for me, kept fasting. “The 20-day bail granted to me by the Supreme Court on Friday is no less than a miracle. No one had any expectations. Now people are saying that God has sent Kejriwal for 20 days to defeat the BJP. Whatever God does, he does for good. They (BJP) have created an environment of dictatorship. My life is dedicated to the country. In these 20 days, I will work 24 hours a day. I will work day and night. I will travel all over the country and beg people with my hands outstretched to ask them to end this dictatorship, otherwise this dictatorship will sink the country,” he added.
The AAP Supremo shared, “They (BJP) did not give me insulin for 15 days in jail. Then when there was a hue and cry in the media and the court ordered, then they gave me insulin and restarted my medication. This is sheer dictatorship. The country cannot run like this. “You all know Mahabal Mishra very well. I do not need to tell you about him. He helps everyone in their happiness and sorrow. If needed, you can call him even at 12 in the night. Till now, BJP’s Parvesh Verma was the MP from here, but people never saw his face and he never came to meet you. He used to talk to you very rudely. Mahabal Mishra is a gentleman. You have to vote for him and make him win with record votes.”

This means that he was missing you people a lot in jail. As soon as he came out of jail, he said that I do not have to go home, but to the people of Delhi. A leader who loves the public so much has rarely been seen. There are many who love their family but there are very few who consider the people of the entire Delhi as their family. This time the INDIA Alliance government is coming. And the biggest contribution in forming the government will be the Aam Aadmi Party. As soon as we come, the first thing we will do is give full statehood status to Delhi.
…when the public could not even tell the names of BJP MPs
The BJP may make big claims but most of the people of Delhi do not even know the names of their MPs. Because they never come among the people and neither are they in contact. During the roadshow, when CM Arvind Kejriwal asked the people in Moti Nagar and Uttam Nagar assembly constituencies about the names of their local MPs, the people could not tell the names of the BJP MPs at both places.

As soon as he came out of jail, Arvind Kejriwal started campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections with full enthusiasm. On Sunday, he did a road show in Moti Nagar and Uttam Nagar assembly constituencies. A huge crowd of people gathered there to see him. People also showered flowers on him. Arvind Kejriwal, riding in an open car, accepted the greetings of the people by waving his hand. The road was packed with a crowd of people. People were seen welcoming Arvind Kejriwal by showering flowers from the roofs and balconies of their houses.

Members of Delhi RWA were also walking with the AAP convoy showing posters and raising slogans in support of CM Arvind Kejriwal. A large number of women, children and elderly were seen participating in the road show. Supporters carrying the AAP flag and poster of ‘Jail ka jawaab vote se’ were raising slogans of ’25 May-BJP gayi’. During this, Arvind Kejriwal also joined the supporters and raised slogans with them.

In the road show of Uttam Nagar, Arvind Kejriwal’s supporters also reached with Hanuman ji’s mace. One of them presented that mace to Arvind Kejriwal. During this, the supporters were continuously raising slogans against BJP. On this, Bhagwant Mann said that there is a lot of anger in you. I give you 15 seconds to vent your anger. After this, he turned the mike around and people raised slogans and vented their anger on BJP. After this, Bhagwant Mann raised slogans with them, ‘Jail ke taale toot gaye, Kejriwal chhoot gaye’, and ‘Inquilab Zindabad’.
