Moving ahead with the day five celebration of “Vigyan Sarvatra Pujayte” at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, a Science Literary Festival was celebrated at Guru Nanak Bhawan. Prof. S. S. Behl, Department of Architecture released a science communication book “Avriti”.
“Avriti”- a communication book released at GNDU Science Week celebrations, its a combined effort of students and teachers with different demographics and backgrounds to promote science and technology in India. The book is funded under Vigyan Prasar’s flagship program SCOPE and supported by Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Vigyan Prasar, Ministry of Culture and Office of the PSA, Government of India. Editors Dr. Bindiya Arora, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Yatin Batra, and Priyanka expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the authors for their contributions in the book.
Prof. S. S. Behl in his address to the audience emphasised on removing the difference between the science & literature. “Scientists helps us understand the real meaning of Universe & Nature, better than any preacher. It is the need of the time that the event like Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate should be initiated.” said Prof. Behl. Dr. Sunil from Department of Hindi, GNDU presented a brief introduction about the drama club of the University. The members of drama club presented an artistic skit on Science and its various inventions by scientists.
The Science competitions of the day included Scribbles and SciWriters (scientific story writing and narrating competition) in order to develop a scientific narrative and rational thoughts in the future pillars of our nation. Students were given a chance to express their perceptions about the society around them. The celebrations of Day 5 were coordinated by Yatin Batra(Event Manager)and Vipul Badhan which included Science Book Fair, Science Exposition, Vigyan Safari, Photo Booth and Science Film Screening. The day concluded with announcement of the results. Students of various eminent institutions of Punjab were exposed to the growing advancements and developments in the domain of Science and Technology worldwide.
