Bains inaugurates modern laboratories, playground, track and classrooms in Govt Sen Sec School Lutheri

With an aim to further enhance the efficiency of students, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains today inaugurated modern physics, chemistry and biology laboratories, playground, track and classrooms along with boundary wall constructed at Government Senior Secondary School Lutheri under Punjab Sikhya Kranti.

On this occasion, while addressing the students and parents, Bains said that the day of 7th April will be written in golden letters in the sector of education for ‘Punjab Sikhya Kranti’. Due to which the children of the common people will get all the facilities in government schools, while also getting the opportunity to get education in a comfortable environment in new laboratories and classrooms.

Education Minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, fulfilling its commitment, has taken concrete steps to secure the future of the students of government schools and has successfully upgraded more than 12,000 government schools under the “Punjab Sikhya Kranti” program.

He said that under this initiative, classrooms, infrastructure, and digital learning facilities have been modernised.  The outlook of government schools in all districts of the state is being changed so that children can also get modern education like those in private schools and can contribute to the development of the state by playing the role of an aware and civilised citizen.

Sharing more information about this program, the Education Minister said that keeping in mind the convenience of students, government schools have been equipped with all the necessary facilities including Wi-Fi internet connection, furniture, clean drinking water, separate toilets for girls and boys.

He said that this initiative highlights the commitment of the state government towards providing quality education to all children, while a better learning environment will enable students to progress further academically, and this investment in education is expected to have a positive impact on the future of Punjab.

Bains said that under the Punjab Sikhya Kranti, boundary walls have been constructed or renovated in 6,812 schools, increasing the safety of students. The length of the boundary walls is about 1,000 kilometers.

Education Minister said that apart from this, 5,399 new classrooms have been built for students, while improving sanitation facilities, 2,976 new toilets have been built in 2,934 schools and 7,166 toilets have been renovated in 4,889 schools.

On this occasion, MLA Sri Chamkaur Sahib Dr. Charanjit Singh along with Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Singh Walia, ADC D Chandrajyoti Singh, SDM Morinda Sukhpal Singh, DEO Prem Kumar Mittal, Sarpanch, Panches, other senior officers including citizens were also present.
