Baisakhi celebrations at Sri Damdama Sahib,reviewed
Bathinda-Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Diprava Lakra today held meeting to oversee arrangements for state level Baiskahi celebrations being held at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo on April 14. Lakra stated that the Baiskahi mela is being held from April 12 to April 14.
SDM Talwandi Sabo has been appointed as the mela officer. SSP Bathinda will oversee all the security arrangements for event as well as oversee parking of the vehicles visiting the area. Lakra directed the officer to make a route plan for traffic navigation during the festivities and the same be made public so that people can avoid getting caught up in the traffic milieu.
Similarly, the District Revenue Officer has been directed to make a rescue plan that could be used in times of any kind of eventuality. Around 60 temporary urinals and latrines will be erected for the pilgrims visiting the mela and arrangements for enough water supply at these places is also being made. Also temporary bus stops for the pilgrims are being erected so that they do not face any problem while paying obeisance at the gurudwara.
Lakra stated that special buses are also being run for the pilgrims. PRTC has been directed to provide enough numbers of buses. The health department has been directed to erect two first aid posts and make requisite arrangements for the same. He directed that help centers be set up at Talwandi Sabo bus stand and near the ponds at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib.
SSP Bathinda Naveen Singla, ADC (D) Sakshi Sawhney, SDM Rampura Subhash Khatak, SDM Bathinda Balwinder Singh, SDM Maur and Talwandi Sabo Varinder Kumar, DSSO Naveen Garhwal, DDPO Harjinder Singh Jassal and others were also present.
