The Punjab State unit of All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC), the apex organisation of bank officers in the country having more than 3.5 lacs Bank Officers as its members celebrated the 40th Foundation Day with a press meet in Patiala Media Club and Tree Plantation Drive at Patiala today. Many Tree saplings were planted on different locations starting from Patiala Media Club.
Speaking to the media, Secretary of AIBOC Punjab Rajiv Sirhindi told that AIBOC is fighting for the last 4 decades to save Public Sector Banks in India. He said that AIBOC has already launched a country vide movement ‘Bank Bachao Desh Bachao’ and a series of programs have been held to fight against Privatisation of Public Sector Banks in India.
Sirhindi told media persons that on this auspicious occasion, as we celebrate the 40th Foundation Day of AIBOC, it is disheartening to observe the indifference towards the legitimate demands of bank employees. Issues such as a five-day workweek, inadequate compensation for officers and employees, non- appointment of Officer and Employee directors and other reasonable demands appear to be ignored, undermining the banking community’s dedication and hard work.
Speaking on the occasion, the President of AIBOC Punjab Puneet Verma said that the All India Bank Officers’ Confederation urges policymakers, regulators, and other interested parties to recognise the invaluable contributions of public sector banks and their employees. Addressing their legitimate demands and ensuring their well-being is essential to preserving the nationalisation ethos and fortifying our financial sector for a prosperous future.
The leaders of Bank Officers told that a ‘Bank Bachao Desh Bachao’ will also be conducted before the Parliament to stop privatisation of Public Sector Banks. A social media campaign against privatisation is already going on across country under the banner of AIBOC.
