BBMB bestowed with first prize at Rajbhasha Kirti Awards

Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), received the highly esteemed first prize in the ‘B’ region at the Rajbhasha Kirti Awards. This award is in recognition of BBMB’s exceptional implementation of the Official Language Policy during the year 2022-23. The award was presented by the Minister of State for Home Affairs of India, Ajay Kumar Mishra, during the Hindi Diwas celebrations on September 14, 2023, in Pune, Maharashtra.
The Rajbhasha Kirti Awards are presented annually by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. These awards acknowledge and applaud outstanding efforts in the implementation of the Official Language Policy across various categories, including ‘A,’ ‘B,’ and ‘C’ of Government of India Boards, Autonomous Bodies, Societies, Nationalized Banks, Financial Institutions, and more.
Nand Lal Sharma, while accepting the award, expressed his profound gratitude and pride in BBMB’s dedicated employees and officers. He attributed this remarkable achievement to their unwavering commitment and hard work in promoting the Hindi language. He emphasized the importance of Hindi as “the soul of our nation” and “the simplest source of expression of our nation.” He urged everyone to take immense pride in the Hindi language and to continue working towards its enrichment and promotion.
