Bharat Scouts and Guides unit formed at Modi College

A special programme was organised at Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala for formation and enrollment of students in newly introduced ‘Bharat Scouts and Guides’ Unit. On this occasion, Onkar Singh, State Organising Commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Punjab was invited for the formal formation of the unit. The Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar formally welcomed the Chief Guest and congratulated the students for joining the unit and said they are future ambassadors of healthy society, responsible for healthy environment as a part of group or individually. He further said students should participate in the activities for better social environment. He honoured the chief guest by presenting him a memento.

In his interactive inaugural session, Onkar Singh laid stress on being socially responsible, having faith in human values and co-operation. He also emphasized on the inculcation of leadership qualities in a person. He shared with the students about the working of the association of Bharat Scots and Guides at National and International level, various training camps it organizes, future endevours and local activities in very interesting and energetic way.

Incharge of College Girl’s unit Dr. Veenu Jain conducted the stage and explained that the unit of Bharat Scouts and guides will have 24 Rangers (Girls) and 24 Rovers (Boys). She further added that the activities of the group will be operational soon. Incharge of Boy’s unit Dr. Rupinder Singh proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of students showed keen interest in joining the group on the occasion.
