Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Takht Shri Harimandir Ji (Patna Sahib Gurudwara) on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, and paid obeisance to the holy “Jore Sahib” at the Gurudwara Sahib. Recently, the sacred “Jore Sahib” (holy footwear) of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his wife, Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, were enshrined at Takht Shri Patna Sahib—the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

The revered ‘Jore Sahib’ is a priceless treasure of Sikh history, sanctified by the dust of the Guru’s feet. The Chief Minister’s visit reflects his deep respect for the Sikh community and stands as a symbol of harmony and goodwill among all faiths.

The Nitish Kumar government has facilitated several events related to the relics of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, even as the state witnesses significant political developments ahead of the elections. During his visit, members of the Takht Shri Harimandir Patna Sahib Management Committee welcomed the Chief Minister and honored him with a shawl and a ‘kirpan’ (ceremonial sword).

Union Minister Hardeep Puri’s family was the hereditary custodian of the sacred ‘Jore Sahib’ (footwear) belonging to Guru Gobind Singh and his wife Mata Sahib Kaur for over 300 years. Recently, Puri’s family formally handed over these relics to the Sikh community to be permanently enshrined at Takht Sri Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh
