Brahm Mohindra Celebrates New Year with Patients

Health and Family Welfare Minister Brahm Mohindra today visited the Government Medical College, Patiala, Emergency wards of Rajindra Hospital, A.P.Jain Civil Hospital, Rajpura and Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib and he celebrated the New Year with the patients, students and Medical College faculty.

Health Minister extended warm wishes to the patients, doctors and students and distributed sweets among them. He also enquired about the various problems being faced by the patients admitted in these hospitals and medical students.

Brahm Mohindra disclosed at this occasion that for the up gradation of the Rajindra Hospital a project worth Rs. 100 crore has been chalked out. He said that in the work has already been started on this project and in the first phase up-gradation of operation theater, water supply, bathrooms, parks and emergency would be executed with the cost of Rs. 88 crore.  He said that the Meeting of High Powered committee duly constituted by Chief Minister, Punjab for the up-gradation of the Rajindra College and Hospital would be convened in Patiala in January 2018. Health Minister assured the medical students that the government will ensure that there is no dearth of faculty and medical equipment’s in the college. He also assured that students that bathrooms of the hostels would be renovated soon.

Later the Health Minister visited the A.P. Jain Hospital, Rajpura and extended his warm greetings to the patients admitted in the hospital. He also wished doctors and expressed satisfaction for the quality health care facilities being provided at the hospital. Brahm Mohindra disclosed that where as the premise of the hospitals in Punjab are small so a blue print for the extension of these hospital premises is being prepared.

It is noteworthy that Brahm Mohindra is the first Health Minister in the political history of Punjab who on the first day of the year visited various hospitals of the state and celebrated the New Year with the patients. The patients, doctors and medical students were overwhelmed over the goodwill gesture of Health Minister who visited the hospitals just to celebrate the New Year with them. During this occasion who were present with Health Minister included Dr. Jatinder Kansal, President, IMA, Punjab,  Dr. Vishal Chopra, Dr. B.S. Sidhu, Principal, Medical College.
