BSP to hold protests across Punjab against scraping of MGNREGA scheme- Karimpuri
Bahadurjeet Singh /royalpatiala.in News/ Balachaur,/December 31,2025 Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will hold protests in front of the offices of Deputy Commissioners across Punjab on January 2,2026 in protest against the central government’s decision to scrap the MGNREGA scheme. This was revealed by the party’s Punjab unit president Avtar Singh Karimpuri.
He termed the central government’s decision to scrap MGNREGA and bring a new scheme as anti-labor and anti-poor. He said that the government should withdraw the new scheme and ensure 300 days of employment to rural laborers by implementing MGNREGA, make the daily wage of the laborers Rs. 700 and the central government should bear the entire cost of this scheme.
He termed the one-day session of the Vidhan Sabha called by the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab against the termination of the MGNREGA scheme as an act of eyewash . He said that the state government could provide only 38 days of employment in a year under the MGNREGA scheme.

He said that the people of Punjab have given a chance to four parties to get power in the last 75 years and appealed that the Bahujan Samaj Party should be given a chance now to save the present generation of Punjab.
He appealed to the people to be part of the Punjab Sambhalo campaign launched by the Bahujan Samaj Party.
