A special meeting of the coordination committee formed for the construction of Algara Bridge was held today at the village common place in Algara. The meeting was attended by local residents, sarpanches, and prominent village representatives.

During the meeting, the villagers suggested that the bridge should not be demolished completely. They highlighted that during the rainy season, when heavy rainfall occurs in Himachal Pradesh, the river swells and makes it difficult to maintain a temporary passage. Therefore, it was proposed that one side of the Algara Bridge should remain open for two-wheelers, while work should begin by dismantling the other side.

The villagers further suggested that after the monsoon subsides and the water level decreases, a temporary road should be constructed along the river. At that stage, the other side of the bridge may also be dismantled. This arrangement would ensure that two-wheeler commuters, including employees, students, and the general public, do not face hardships in their daily travel.

Chairman of Shri Guru Ravidas Ayurvedic University, Dr. Sanjeev Gautam, who specially attended the meeting, took suggestions from the panchayat members and villagers, and discussed the matter with officials. When the proposal was unanimously agreed upon, Dr. Gautam brought it to the notice of Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains.

Minister Bains assured that solving the problems and difficulties of the people is the government’s priority. He directed officials that only one side of the Algara Bridge should be dismantled so that the other side remains operational for smooth transportation until a temporary passage is ready.

Villagers expressed their gratitude to Minister Bains, appreciating his efforts in ensuring that the bridge construction work has started while keeping the concerns of the local people in mind. They said that the Minister understands the problems of the area with sensitivity.
