Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains participated with deep emotion alongside the sangat in the divine Dasmesh March, dedicated to the historic memories associated with the intervening night of the 6th and 7th of Poh. On this occasion, he paid obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and Qila Anandgarh Sahib, offering reverent remembrance to the Tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
This Dashmesh march commemorates the historic night when Dashmesh Pita Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji took the extremely difficult yet spiritually resolute decision to leave Anandpur Sahib along with the Singhs and his family. Beginning in the early hours of the morning from Qila Anandgarh Sahib, the march recreated vivid memories of that era, with elephants, horses, and camels symbolically reflecting the time. Thousands of devotees participated, continuously chanting “Satnam Waheguru” and recalling those poignant and heart-wrenching moments of Sikh history.
During the early morning hours, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains paid obeisance and offered prayers at Gurdwara Parivar Vichhora Sahib. He then took part in the Nagar Kirtan that commenced from the same gurdwara. As the sangat crossed the Sarsa River during the Nagar Kirtan, the atmosphere became deeply emotional, as memories of Guru Sahib’s separation and the immense struggles faced during that period were recalled.
On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister also rendered seva at langars set up at various locations, further upholding the Sikh tradition of seva and dedication. He stated that the divine Dashmesh March is not merely a religious procession, but a living testament to Sikh history, supreme sacrifice, and unwavering faith, which continues to inspire humanity to walk on the path shown by the Guru Sahibs.
