Capt Amarinder Singh former aide house raided by ED

As per reports, a team of enforcement directorate (ED) from Jalandhar has raided the former Punjab cabinet minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot residence at Amloh in fatehgarh sahib district. Dharamsot had served as minister for the forest and social welfare department in the cabinet of former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
According to information, Sadhu Singh was not present at the time of the raid.
ED is also raiding the location of Dharamsot’s relatives.
Earlier, the state vigilance had arrested Dharamsot in June 2023 in a corruption case related to felling of trees and other illegalities. He is accused of being involved in the illegal felling of over 25,000 trees. The Congress leader was allegedly involved in “organised corruption” in relation to the issuance of no-objection certificates, the transfer of government employees, and the awarding of permits for the cutting of Khair trees. He had been booked by the state vigilance under charges of the prevention of corruption act for misdeeds as minister.
