CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival in Patiala; new experience and dynamism will come to our space: Daljit Ami

‘25th CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival’ is scheduled to be held at the Educational Multimedia Research Center (EMRC), Patiala.  Daljit Ami, director of EMRC, Patiala informed that the informal announcement had already been made but now it has been officially confirmed by the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC).

CEC Joint Director Dr. Sunil Mehru has written an email that ‘Director CEC appreciates your willingness and gesture to organize the event at Patiala. CEC takes pleasure in entrusting the responsibility to EMRC Patiala.” It is further added in the email, “It is tentatively proposed to hold the 25th CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival somewhere in the third week of February, 2024.”

Daljit Ami said that the dates will be finalized soon. It is worth mentioning that Prof. Jagat Bhushan Nadda, Director, CEC in his presidential speech announced that ‘UGC-CEC. He expressed happiness about the scheduled film festival and said that the national level event is vindication of the work EMRC has done over a couple of years. The outreach of EMRC has increased through quantitative and qualitative work. He said that this festival will be beneficial for us from two aspects. While on the one hand personalities arriving from all over the country will come here and get to see our work; and on the other hand our students, faculty or other people who are interested in the film world will participate in this festival and watch national level films. He elaborated, “It would be an opportunity to share experiences and learn about best practices in the field of digital content for educational purposes.”

Vice Chancellor Prof. Arvind the EMRC staff and thanked Prof J B Nadda for entrusting Punjabi University the responsibility of organizing a national festival. He expressed his best wishes for the successful organization of this festival and hoped that it would be an exemplary festival and hoped that EMRC will further increase the prestige of the institution.

He remarked that such events are important to build and nurture the institution as they bring new experience and dynamism to a space. He added that this is first of its kind event in Patiala but surely it is first of the many more that will happen in the near future.
