Central, State govt offices in Patiala defy union government orders

Union Govt has declared state mourning for June 5,2021 (Saturday) as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, Sir Anerood Jugnauth, former President and former Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius has passed away.

The central government has already announced the State Mourning ,yesterday, stating that “during the state mourning, the National flag would remain fly half-mast across India on the buildings, where it was being flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment during the aforesaid period”, and an official communication was also forwarded by union home ministry to all the chief secretaries of the state and administrators of all the union territories, heads of all the central government offices while declaring the state mourning, on June 5,2021.

But most of the Punjab government offices, central government offices, , Indian Army offices in Patiala, defied the official orders of union government of state mourning- to fly National Flag half mast.

When the royalpatiala.in team visited the state govt , central govt offices in Patiala, it found , that many  of them flouted the govt orders. But district administrative complex in Patiala, where the offices of commissioner Patiala division, deputy commissioner, ssp along with other departments,  DIG Patiala range office, Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC)head office followed the guidelines in true spirits and half mast the National flag, as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary.

But the team found the offices of Punjab state Transmission Corporation limited (PSTCL), , municipal corporation Patiala, central Jail Patiala, The Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Army’s divisional headquarter building, and many other govt departments, who  defied the govt orders and didn’t lower the national Flag (Half Mast) to pay respect to the departed dignitary.

When contacted the Patiala municipal corporation commissioner, Poonamdeep Kaur, she didn’t take the phone calls and responded to the text message

When contacted Er Paramjit Singh SE-HR PSTCL he said,” we didn’t get the information. If we had the information, we could have done it.”

When contacted the Principal commissioner of Income Tax, Vikram Gaur, he also showed his ignorance about the orders and said “ let me check, where is the lapse has occurred. If a state Mourning has been declared, we must follow it.”

When contacted the PRO of Indian Army, Gagandeep Kaur, she said “ the authorities didn’t get the  information on time. “
