Central University of Punjab celebrates 74th Republic Day of India

The Central University of Punjab observed the 74th Republic Day of India on its campus with utmost fervour, enthusiasm and patriotic devotion. On this occasion, Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the Vice-Chancellor, hoisted the National Flag and the University Flag at the university campus. After the flag-hoisting ceremony and inspection of the parade, the Vice-Chancellor exchanged Republic Day greetings with participants.

The distinguished guests on this occasion were Karuna Tiwari, the first lady of the university and the residents of village Ghudda.

While addressing the faculty, officers, staff members, students, and family members of employees, Prof. Tiwari stressed that our constitution is a sacred document that must be upheld by every citizen, and it illuminates the path for the inclusive development of every segment of the society in our country. Therefore, we need to act responsibly by being aware of our rights and duties and making contributions to the development of the nation.

Prof. Tiwari mentioned that Punjabis have always left their imprint in a variety of spheres of life and this year Govt. of India conferred Padma Awards to two Punjabis in the area of literature and education. He congratulated Prof. Kapil Kapoor (Member of School Board of the University) on receiving the Padma Bhushan and Rattan Singh Jaggi on receiving Padma Shri Award.

He advised students and researchers to constantly refine their thought processes through continuous learning, to achieve a high intellectual level, and to apply their wisdom in their actions. He inspired the university fraternity to work hard to make CUPB a preferred destination for quality education and research.

Central University of Punjab celebrates 74th Republic Day of India. On this occasion, Prof. R.K. Wusirika, Dean Incharge Academics; Prof. V.K. Garg, Dean Students’ Welfare; Prof. Anjana Munshi, Director, Research & Development Cell; Prof. Monisha Dhiman, Director, IQAC; Dean of Schools; and Heads of the Departments were present. University officers, faculty, staff and students attended this event.
