Chief Minister Mann should apologize in the case of 328 missing Saroops: Ajay Mangupur
Bahadurjeet Singh/royalpatiala.in News/ Balachaur,January 21,2026 District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Congress President Ajay Mangupur said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann should not only apologize to the people of Punjab for the ongoing controversy over the disappearance of 328 Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib from Raja Sahib Gurdwara Banga, but should also repent.
He said that the issue of missing Saroops is an internal matter of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, not a matter of sacrilege. Ajay Mangupur said that it is unfortunate that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann gave a misleading statement about the recovery of 169 missing Saroops and the government took a U-turn on this issue. He said that the government takes a U-turn on some issue or the other every day. This is their hypocrisy.
During the Maghi Mela, chief minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that 169 of the 328 missing Saroops have been recovered from Raja Sahib Gurdwara near Banga, but there was no truth in this. He said.the chief minister misled the people of Punjab with false statements. Later, the Punjab government had to take a U-turn on this matter.
The government admitted that the missing Saroops were not found. The government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who lied in this matter, should apologize to the people of Punjab,Mangupur demanded.
