Chitkara School boys qualify for Subroto Cup

Chitkara International School Football Team came out as champions in the in the Pre- Subroto Football Tournaments held at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 37 Chandigarh.
In the U-17 boys’ Final, the CIS team played Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28 Chandigarh. After goalless first half, CIS striker Gurnoor put Chitkara ahead in the 40th minute, while Sajan doubled the lead 15 minutes later and Chitkara team beat St Soldier International, 2-0 and secured their position to compete in the Nationals next month, which is to be held in Delhi.
About Subroto Cup
Subroto Cup Football Tournament is one of the famous inter-school football tournament in India, named after the Indian Air Force Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee. Subroto Cup is conducted by the Indian Air Force, with support from India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It started in 1960 and has been conducted every year annually. In 1994, the Air Force Sports Control took over the Subroto Cup tournament and has been conducting it since then.
