Chitkara University celebrates Christmas as the Nation pays tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on his 350th Martyrdom Day

Today, the nation is paying tribute to ‘Hind Di Chadar’Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on his 350th Martyrdom Day. In contrast region’s renowned private university’ Chitkara University’ is celebrating ‘Christmas’ in one of its college where students were asked to prepare themselves for that event.
Dr Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University is the chief guest in that ‘Christmas’ event otganised by one of its college on November 25,2025
Moreover, the state government has declared a gazetted holiday under Negotiable Instrument Act in all school, education institutes, universities, government bodies etc for November 25, 2025. Flouting the government orders, region’s renowned private university’ Chitkara University’ remained opened today.
When contacted the Registrar of Chitkara University, Punjab, Col. Rakesh Sharma, he said “ I don’t know about any event related to ‘Christmas’ is going on in the campus. We have 30-40 colleges. I’ll check .” When asked why the institute choose this day for celebrating Christmas, He said” i’ll ask the Dean to look into it. We at Chitkara respect all religions. This is a scared day for us also.” On why the University opened on a gazetted holiday declared by state government in January , he said “we are open because our students have some commitments. Some of teachers are in university from outside.”
