CM Bhagwant Mann hands over appointment letters to 718 newly recruited officers/employees of PSTCL

Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL), under the command of its CMD A Venu Prasad takes the lead and organized a function to mark the “One month of State Government” to distribute appointment letters to the newly recruited engineers, employees of PSTCL at a function organised on April 16,2022.
Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann hands over appointment letters to 718 newly recruited officers/employees of PSTCL here yesterday on the formation day of PSTCL.
Addressing newly recruited officers/employees of Punjab State Transmission Corporation (PSTCL) at a function organized on the occasion of the foundation day of the PSTCL here yesterday, Bhagwant Mann congratulated the newly recruits in the PSTCL and exhorted the youth to come forward to contribute for rebuilding the state.
Earlier, welcoming the Chief Minister and newly recruited officers and employees, the Power Minister Harbhajan Singh said that transmission capacity of PSTCL would be enhanced to 39588 in 2022 as compared to 38160 in 2021.

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister and CMD PSTCL A. Venu Prasad, Principal Secretary Local Bodies AK Sinha, Special Principal Secretary to CM Ravi Bhagat, Director Local Bodies Puneet Goyal besides other senior officers of the PSPCL and PSTCL.
ABOUT PSTCL
Punjab Government has unbundled Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB), which was a statutory body formed on 01/02/1959 responsible for Generation, Transmission and Distribution of electricity in the state of Punjab. Vide Notification No 1/9/08-EB(PR)196, dated-16.04.2010 Govt. of Punjab carved out following two corporations out of erstwhile PSEB:
1.Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL)
2.Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited (PSTCL)
Acting as State Transmission Utility (STU), PSTCL has been entrusted with the transmission business of the erstwhile Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB). Functions of State Load Despatch Center shall also be discharged by PSTCL.
