CM releases 1st Vol of Coffee Table Book on 550th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday released the first volume of a state government coffee table book on the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The coffee table book, released in the presence of the council of ministers, consists of 70 pages that vividly depict the special events being held, from November 2018 to June 2019, as part of the celebrations.
The events listed include the Kartarpur Corridor foundation laying, as well as various other infrastructural development works dedicated to the historic occasion. Various projects launched by the state government have been highlighted in the publication. These include Pind Babe Nanak Da, Bebe Nanaki College for Girls, State-of-the-art Auditorium, Planting of 550 saplings in every village, Nanak Bagichi, Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana and the cleaning of the holy Kali Bein.
The book also highlights other activities/programmes seeking to propagate the life and teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji amongst the people through seminars, debates and conferences, kavi darbars, essay writing competitions, weekend league sports, etc. Other special attractions include commemorative medallions, documentary movies and plays, Gurmat Sangeet Sammelan, songs, debates and poetry, quiz contests, Rabab Utsav and Dastaar Bandi.
The coffee table book also gives an account of book fairs on the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, besides rare manuscripts, Bhai Mardana ji’s Rabab etc.
The coffee table book has been conceptualised and prepared by the Information & Public Relations Department, Punjab, and printed by the Controller Printing & Stationery Punjab.
Cabinet Ministers Brahm Mohindra, Manpreet Singh Badal, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Om Parkash Soni, Aruna Chaudhary, Razia Sultana, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Charanjit Singh Channi, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Balbir Singh Sidhu, Vijay Inder Singla, Sunder Sham Arora and Bharat Bhushan Ashu were among those present at the book launch.
Others present included the Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Raveen Thukral, Special Principal Secretary to CM-cum-Secretary, Information & Public Relations Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, Director, Information & Public Relations Anindita Mitra and Additional Director Senu Duggal.
