CM releases Children Challan Book for creating awareness
PATIALA- Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday released ‘Children Challan Book’-an initiative of Patiala Foundation to sensitize the children about the traffic rules and regulations during a function here at Government Mohindra College.
The Book is aimed at promoting traffic rules awareness in the young minds besides improving traffic rules compliance amongst the parents for sake of their safety and that of their families. Through this initiative, the children would keep a tab on their parents whether they were obeying the traffic rules while driving, in case they violate, the children will issue them a challan, which would be symbolic in nature just to make them follow traffic rules in future.
According to the Chief Functionary of the Patiala Foundation Ravee Ahluwalia the Children Challan Book would be issued free of cost to the children of class IV and V, who would hand out challans to their parents over non-adherence of traffic rules during a time period of one month. The Books having challan option for various traffic violations would then be reviewed and the data would be accessed to analyse various aspects of behavior and ways to bring about a behavioral change. The Chief Functionary pointed out that the foundation intend to improve compliance towards traffic road safety rules by involving the most precious stake holders-the Children, who can be instrumental in bringing behavior change amongst the parents and family members and also prepare them for future life while laying a strong foundation about good traffic behavior in them.
