After congress MP’s, Minister’s, MLA’s were annoyed with the state bureaucracy, now Punjab advocate general Atul Nanda is added in the list. He is the latest senior functionary of the state, who showed is resentment against the state Bureaucracy.
Advocate General Punjab Atul Nanda shoot of an emergency letter with “Spl N0 1-2” dated June 14,2021 to the state chief secretary, against the “ Arbitrary abolishment of posts in the office of the Advocate General ”, effecting the functioning and administration of the office of the Advocate General, Punjab.
“The cause of the resentment of the AG Punjab is, the abolition of 23 posts in his office, by the state home department.” Nanda showed his annoyance to the chief secretary for “not showing any courtesy to intimate or consultation with him.”
Nanda pointed out that “ some of these relate to the posts of librarian and Steno’s i.e posts which are critical for the functioning of any lawyer’s office. The case work is increasing day by day and there is no possibility of decrease in load of work of this office.”
AG Punjab cited that “the next six months as crucial as being end of term, the Government is likely to be faced with critical litigation which will require AG office to work at its best. At a time like this, to try and cripple my office with the abolishing of posts, betrays an arbitrary approach, if not, a total non-application of mind by the ACS Home. I also find it inexcusable that the ACS Home has without so much as the courtesy of a discussion with me, let alone my approval, done this which amounts to a clear interference in the functioning in my office.”
CM’s close lieutenant AG Punjab felt the heat of state bureaucracy . AG Punjab seeks intervention of the chief secretary in the matter and direct ACS Home to do the needful and revive the said posts.
