In a major setback for suspended Patiala Police inspector Roonie Singh, the Patiala district court has rejected his interim anticipatory bail.

On April 2, the Punjab and Haryana high court granted interim anticipatory bail for three days to inspector Ronnie Singh, one of the 12 accused officers and directed him to approach the district court.

After he moved an application for interim anticipatory bail in Patiala, an additional session’s judge rescued herself on Monday from a bail petition filed by Ronnie Singh. The matter was transferred to another court of additional session’s judge.

Today, Surinder Pal Kaur additional session’s judge, Patiala rejected Inspector Roonie Singh’s application for interim anticipatory bail.

Col. Pushpinder Singh Bath’s advocate HPS Verma confirmed the rejection of the interim anticipatory bail said “he can move Punjab and Haryana High Court for any relief. But the courts are closed for 10 days and they will open on April 21,2025.”

Inspector Roonie Singh is an accused in Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son Angad assault case. Both were attacked by police officers on the night of March 13-14 near Govt Rajindra Hospital in Patiala.

On the incident day, Inspector Roonie Singh who was posted as SHO Samana City and as per his statement, he came to Patiala after a tip off was received about the arrival, delivery of drug consignment at the venue. So, he immediately reached Patiala in civvies.

As per Col. Pushpinder Singh bath’s family, “inspector Roonie Singh along with inspector Harjinder Singh Dhillon, Harry Boparai and their security guard jointly came to a dhaba outside Govt Rajindra Hospital, Patiala where they were thrashed. “

After their suspension, inspector Roonie Singh was posted to Barnala.

As per sources, the presence of inspector Roonie Singh along with other accused police officials at the time of incident is going against him. To remain safe, out of 12 accused, only he has applied for interim anticipatory bail, because he knew that his presence along with others will go against him as he was on duty at Samana at that day. Moreover his mobile tower location will go against him.”
