The home secretary, Punjab has marked a magistrate inquiry in Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath’s assault case.
The inquiry will be conducted by Paramvir Singh, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Patiala.
As per sources , the home secretary has marked the inquiry against the alleged police officials under Punjab Police Rules 16.38 (Punjab Police Rule 16.38 outlines the procedure for investigating and prosecuting criminal offenses committed by police officers, emphasizing the role of the District Magistrate in determining the investigation’s conduct and the potential for departmental or judicial proceedings.
As per the orders, the inquiry officer has to complete the inquiry within three weeks.

When contacted Jaswinder Kaur Bath, wife of Col. Pushpinder Singh Bath she said ” its an eyewash as the enquiry officer is an IAS officer of DC Patiala’s batch (She is of 2014 batch). We want a CBI inquiry.” She further added that as per her information, the SSP Patiala has not included the name of Inspector Shaminder Singh. He is also the one person who also apologized before me for this untoward incident.”
She further added that the SSP Patiala has not released the names of 12 suspended police officials. This shows that something fishy is going on and he is protecting his ‘blue-eyed’ personnels.
