Columbia Asia Hospital, Patiala taking a social initiative celebrates 31stWorld Aids Day. World Aids Day is celebrated every year on 1st December. World Aids day was started in 1988. During this program a team of doctors at Columbia Asia Hospital, educated patients on AIDS and also make them aware how to save yourself from AIDS through awareness and taking protective measures. Theme of This year World AIDS day is “Communities Make the Difference” They also cleared myths of people about AIDS.

According to UNAIDS more than 9.4 million people are living with HIV not yet know their status. Communities contribute to the AIDS response in many different ways. Their leadership and advocacy ensure that the response remains relevant and grounded, keeping people at the centre and leaving no one behind. The strong advocacy role played by communities is needed more than ever to ensure that AIDS remains on the political agenda that human rights are respected and that decision-makers and implementers are held accountable.On this occasion General Manger of Columbia Asia Gurkirat Singh, Chef of Medical Services Dr. Simica Tuli, Chief of Nursing Sadhna Mazumdar and many others were present.
