Commerce Asso of Mata Gujri College organises Competition

Fatehgarh Sahib-The Commerce Association (Registered) of Post Graduate department of Commerce of Mata Gujri College organised a paper reading competition. More than 55 students of B.Com, B.Com Hons, B.Com Accounting and Finance (1st year) participated with great enthusiasm.

Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh said, “The participation of students in such competitions signifies that the students are aware about their all round development along with attaining bookish knowledge.” While appreciating the participation of the students, he said that such events develop a reading interest amongst the students and also increases the knowledge related to the language.

On this occasion, Dean Academics and Head of the commerce Department Prof. Bikramjit Singh Sandhu said that such competitions increase the knowledge of the students, brings out a great command over language and also improves their pronunciation.

The students presented their papers on the topics; Social Media: A boon or bane, Drug Legalization: A war on drugs, Public lynching, is ‘Make in India’ a success and Cyber Bullying. In this competition, Jasdeep Kaur of B.Com 1st year got first position, Charanjeet Singh of B. Com. I got second position whereas Ramanjot Singh of B.Com Accounting and Finance got third position. Pavanpreet Kaur, Nancy and Vikramjeet singh got consolation prizes.

Dr. Rashid Rasheed, Dr. Jagjiwan Singh, Dr. Navdeep Singh, Prof. Pardeep Kaur, Prof. Anupreet Singh Tiwana and Dr. Satnam Singh also presented their views. The function was organised by the students of M.Com Part I and II. Prof. Harjeet Kaur, Prof. Ravinder Kaur, Prof. Rashpal Kaur, staff members and students were present on this occasion.
