Computer stolen-breach of security in Punjab’s taxation commissioner office

In a major breach of security in the Punjab’s taxation additional commissioner office, has rocked the entire excise and taxation department.

As per a theft complaint filed by Jaswinder Singh, Nazar with excise and taxation department, head office, at Patiala, with civil lines police station Patiala, that, “a computer installed in the office of Showkat Ahmed Parray, IAS, state additional commissioner, taxation has been stolen, on January 7,2021.”

On his official complaint, Patiala police lodged a FIR number 8, dated 8-1-2021 in civil lines police station and booked the care-takers (chowkidar’s) Rakesh Kumar, Vicky Mehra, Amit Kumar, Chander pal under section 457 IPC (Whoever commits lurking house-trespass by night) , 380 IPC (whoever commits theft in any building, is used for the custody of property).

When contacted the additional commissioner taxation Showkat Ahmed Parray, IAS , he said “ someone has stolen 2-3 computers, an AC in the head office premises of excise and taxation department, in the last around three months. Recently, a computer kept aside in my room, has also been stolen. We have already lodged the complaint”

Computer stolen-breach of security in Punjab’s taxation commissioner office.When contacted the SHO civil lines, Patiala, he said” we had arrested the accused, named in the FIR .When asked about the recovery of the stolen items, he said the investigation is on.”

“Punjab state excise and taxation department head office in Patiala, is seems to be a secured place, as even the loaded trucks,who evade the tax, were parked in the premises. But this type of theft in the high official office,has raised the question of security arrangements in the office premises of state’s main source of revenue generation department” said Narinder Sharma, a businessman.
