The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gave a jolt to the Congress in Punjab on Saturday when their prominent Dalit leader and former Bassi Pathana MLA Gurpreet Singh GP joined the AAP in the presence of CM Bhagwant Mann and Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer.
GP was currently district president of the Congress from Fatehgarh Sahib. But after joining the AAP he said that there is no discipline in Punjab Congress. To defeat him, former CM Charanjit Singh Channi fielded his brother. The high command also does not listen. When he goes to villages every day, common people ask why Punjab Congress leaders keep fighting among themselves. GP said that there is nepotism in Congress. Every leader thinks about his family. But the Aam Aadmi Party is the party for the representatives of the common people, that is why he is joining the AAP today.
Congress district president joins AAP .He was formally inducted into the party by CM Mann. GP said that he liked the works and working style of CM Bhagwant Mann. AAP is a party of common people and all AAP leaders work on the ground.
Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer was also present to welcome Gurpreet Singh GP to the AAP fold and he said that GP’s presence will strengthen the party in Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha Constituency. Hayer said that the working style of Gurpreet Singh already matches the AAP and he is a much loved leader among the people.
