Congress observer Pawan Dewan holds key meeting in Jagraon ahead of municipal polls

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee appointed observer for Jagraon Municipal Council Elections, Pawan Dewan, today, convened an extensive meeting in Jagraon with Congress workers, senior local leaders and aspirants seeking party nominations for the municipal polls. Giving details, Dewan, who is senior Congress leader and former Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board, said that it was an extremely fruitful meeting.
Sharing details about the deliberations, Dewan described the interaction as “extremely fruitful and encouraging.” He said that he held detailed one-to-one discussions with all aspirants interested in contesting the elections. According to him, every applicant was given a fair opportunity to present his or her views, political background, organisational contribution and assessment of the electoral situation in their respective wards.
“After thorough perusal and deliberations, the list of the probable candidates will be submitted to the party high command,” said, Dewan, while adding that he witnessed enthusiastic participation from ticket applicants and grassroots workers, reflecting the growing momentum within the party ahead of the elections.
Dewan said, “I had a comprehensive interaction with the ticket seekers. Their feedback, commitment towards the party and connect with the public were carefully assessed. After thorough perusal and detailed deliberations, the list of probable candidates will be submitted to the party high command for final consideration.”

Emphasising the importance of organisational unity and disciplined election management, Dewan said that the Congress leadership is focused on selecting candidates who enjoy public support, possess a clean image and remain actively connected with local issues. He maintained that the party is committed to fielding capable and dedicated candidates who can effectively represent the aspirations of the people of Jagraon.
“Our aim is to strengthen the organisation at every level and work collectively for a decisive victory. We are coordinating closely with local Congress workers and office-bearers to build a strong and united campaign in every ward,” Dewan concluded.
Prominent among others present in the meeting included former MLA Jagtar Singh Jagga, Senior Congress leader Purushottam Khalifa, Block President (Jagraon City) Harpreet Singh, Block President (Jagraon Rural) Navdeep Singh, Ravinder Sabarwal, former President of the Municipal Council Jitendra Pal Rana, Navdeep Grewal, Amar Nath Kalyan, Raj Bhardwaj, Maheshi Sahota, Manjinder Singh Dalla and Raju Comrade.
